Results of Managed Accounts in 2016
Like in every year, I calculated how much each managed account brought net, before taxes. Unfortunately, the number of my live accounts significantly diminished by the end of the year, but this is such a business. The Artificial Quant account that arrived towards the end of the year is still only a few months old. So, this post can only handle the ST accounts running at DCFXBroker.
It is important to note that in case of small, $ 1000-2000 accounts, the fixed monthly fee can significantly influence the annual profit or loss. Also in the first year, you needed a bit of luck in choosing the time when the account was started. After all, the chart also shows that the accounts launched at the beginning of March could earn significantly less last year than those opened in April; as the accounts suffered a significant loss in March. However, these are factors that count only in the first year, not later.
It is clearly shown that those who have undertaken a near 100% risk (practically all accounts are so risky) with the ST6 account, managed to double the deposit. It is true that there were large fluctuations in both directions in the meantime, so it is really not worth to evaluate these accounts on the basis of weekly or monthly results, but only after a period of at least a year.
Those who are reluctant to risk, or are reluctant to see their accounts temporarily in 30-40% minus, the ST1 and ST2 accounts may be potential investment targets. And ST3 offers a reasonable middle ground.
